Prototype Pannier

I was commissioned to make a pair of panniers for my friend's birthday by her husband and this is what I came up with. Designed to carry a paper grocery bag this two-toned canvas rolltop bag also has a ripstop nylon lining and interior pocket. I'm collaborating with Legacy Frameworks to make the hardware to fit her Yuba Mundo rear rack.

I'm still working out all the details and am excited to work out the materials and styling. I expect to have a few on hand at the Pitchfork Music festival and look for a few others popping up on my Etsy Shop over the next few weeks.

Crafty Bastards Synopsis

Thanks to all of you in D.C. who made Crafty Bastards such a wonderful success!  I believe this show shattered all my previous records in your show of support for handmade goods.  It was such a busy show I didn't even get to make the rounds to say hello to my friends and meet other vendors.

A special thanks to Washington City Paper for writing me up in that week's paper.  I knew they were going to write a blurb on their blog (check it out for other great cycling gift ideas) but I was pleasantly surprised when a customer asked "So, did you see yourself in the paper this week?"  Ummm... no!  Thanks all the same - I had a great time and hope to see you all next year!
